SentrySIS keynote speech at NERCP crime Conference 2016

The North East Retail Crime Conference (NERCP) took place in Redcar on 8th March 2016 and was billed as the "must attend" event of the year for anyone involved in preventing Retail Crime in the North East and North Yorkshire.

This event saw the NERCP offering a very high calibre of expertise via professionals and speakers who are leaders in their fields. This well attended event was an excellent networking opportunity for all delegates and attendees.

This year saw Chris Nriapia from SentrySIS present on how technology can be best used by crime partnerships and the tools they have at their disposal. Focussing specifically on the new SentrySIS 2.0 platform, Chris demonstrated how easy the system is to use and how some of the features are being used by BRCP’s across the North of England.

The event focused on the main themes of Developing a robust network for retailers and police to build confidence and align objectives, working in partnership to target prolific, organised and professional offenders profiting from retail crime and working together as a community to find successful, innovative and meaningful solutions to tackle retail crime.

Chris commented on the event and said “It’s great to be invited to such a worthwhile cause that is fully focused on reducing crime in the North of England. It’s organisations like NERCP that are a real case study example of organisations working together with other key stakeholders to achieve a common goal”.

The demonstration of SentrySIS 2.0 and all its features were warmly received by all attendees where small more concentrated demonstrations were given by Chris and his team in the main exhibitor hall.

Other guest speakers also included Temporary Deputy Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Simon Nickless, Counter Terrorism Advisor John Bickerstaff, SIA’s John Montague and Detective Superintendant Neil Edger from Durham Police. The event was closed with a presentations given by the NERCP’s umbrella charity Northumbria Coalition Against Crime who demonstrated the excellent work being done by the partnership to prevent retail crime in the region by diverting young people away from a life of crime.
