York’s business crime reduction partnership (BCRP), York Business Against Crime (YBAC) and SentrySIS have today formed a new partnership that provides its membership with an online database of known criminals who commit retail crime within the York area.
The SentrySIS software is a secure online platform that allows the YBAC membership to read and post real time notifications and incidents of retail crime instances and intelligence within York.
Crime Reduction Manager for YBAC, Tanya Lyons commented and said “Retailers in York are delighted with the SentrySIS system which they have found to be user-friendly and accessible in store via hand held devices. The system ensures timely and effective intelligence sharing around those who commit crime against business."
The SentrySIS platform is currently being used by the Leeds BCRP, BACIL, whose membership have benefitted from its simplicity, easy accessibility and up to the minute information about local retail crime.
Chris Nriapia, Marketing Director at SentrySIS, commented and said “Retail outlets and businesses within the Yorkshire region have seen an increase in activity over recent years. Sentrysis has already helped reduce retail crime in Leeds and we are confident these positive changes will be seen by York YABAC members with the introduction of sentrysis, making York a safer place to shop, work and socialise.”
