During the period from March 17th to 21st, the first ever National BCRP Awareness Week will be held, that highlights the vital and diverse contributions of BCRPs across the UK and the communities they support.
To commemorate National BCRP Awareness Week, SentrySIS will present a crime partnership each day, providing a detailed overview of their activities and enabling them to share their perspectives on the significance of being a BCRP in the United Kingdom.
Today we highlight Counter Crime Partnership.
The Counter Crime Partnership (CCP) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to tackling retail crime and anti-social behaviour in the Tendring district of Essex, England. Established in early 2019, CCP operates under Tendring Security Limited and is part of the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships. Its primary goal is to equip local businesses with the tools and resources needed to prevent and manage criminal activities within the community.

CCP covers several towns across Tendring, including Clacton, Frinton & Walton and Harwich & Dovercourt. By fostering a network of businesses across these areas, the partnership enables real-time information sharing and coordinated responses to crime.
One of CCP’s key initiatives is the ‘banned from one, banned from all’ scheme, introduced in June 2024. This initiative aims to deter repeat offenders by enforcing collective bans across all participating establishments. Businesses involved in the scheme display deterrent stickers at their entrances, demonstrating a united stance against crime.
CCP has capitalised on the success of its pivotal 2024 initiative and introduced a ‘Prevention is better than the cure’ campaign to entice members to join the scheme in 2025.
To enhance communication and coordination, CCP provides access to the SentrySIS platform—an advanced, cloud-based crime reporting and intelligence-sharing system. Members can use the platform via a web portal or CCP provided digital radio handsets, which integrate with the SentrySIS app – the first to integrate crime reporting apps into handsets when it first launched.
Recognising the importance of both the daytime and night-time economies, CCP is also developing a ‘pub link’ scheme to protect bars, hotels, and restaurants. This includes supplying digital radios to alert venues about potential troublemakers and facilitating intelligence-sharing between businesses.
CCP works closely with Essex Police and the Tendring Community Safety Partnership, contributing to a significant reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour in the district.

In the 12 months leading to June 2024, reported offences fell by nearly 13.5%, with anti-social behaviour incidents dropping by almost 70% over the past five years.
In summary, the Counter Crime Partnership plays a crucial role in improving public safety across Tendring by providing businesses with innovative crime prevention tools and fostering a collaborative approach to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.
