One of the UK’s longest and most well-established crime partnerships, this week added value to its current crime reduction operation by signing a two-year agreement to use ConnectLive by SentrySIS.

Local businesses and other stakeholders within the Brighton & Hove Business Crime Reduction Partnership can now securely share crime related information via a ‘Whatsapp’ style messaging application as part of the wider BusinessProtect suite of tools within SentrySIS.

ConnectLive comes in the form of a fully GDPR compliant, dedicated mobile app on Apple and Android devices where users can confidently share crime related images, text messages and videos with each other to assist in local crime reduction and prevention strategies.

Lisa Peretta, Crime Manager at Brighton & Hove Business Crime Reduction Partnership, commented and said “We are very pleased to be adding SentrySIS ConnectLive into our ever growing arsenal of tools within our membership package. We stand with our members on the frontline against business crime and, in an ever changing, fast-paced world, we need to ensure that the tools we use and offer to our members fit their current needs. Instant messaging communication is at the heart of the modern world with apps such as WhatsApp, but we needed to ensure that data protection and GDPR legislation are strictly enforced which is why we are delighted to join the SentrySIS ConnectLive network.”

The ConnectLive system allows the sharing of crime content in real time meaning that store guards, security staff and loss prevention personnel receive the vital information they need within seconds to assist in reducing crime in their establishments.

Crime administrators at Brighton & Hove Business Crime Reduction Partnership can fully control user access and their activity through the SentrySIS ConnectLive admin panel. This ensures that shared data is relevant, proportional and the correct security controls are assigned for content deletion.

Chris Nriapia, Director at SentrySIS, commented and said “Brighton BCRP have really set the standard on how a successful crime partnership should operate so it’s a real achievement for us, that Brighton BCRP have chosen SentrySIS as their instant crime messaging platform. Crime partnership members can now benefit from the latest technology available within this sector and receive early-access to existing and up and coming SentrySIS applications that are either already on the market or what the team are currently working on”. Chris concluded and said "Brighton has always been a key city for us on our SentrySIS roadmap as this opens up further opportunties across the South coast of England".

ConnectLive is just one of several applications the that make-up the wider SentrySIS BusinessProtect platform. BusinessProtect is used by crime partnerships, business improvement districts and national retailers to help reduce, monitor and manage crime more efficiently.
